Wow, thanks for all the support guys. I had no idea you guys cared this much about me! I figured that as a mop up guy in the bullpen you people would finally leave me alone-- what with the 30 minute innings and inability to throw strikes -- only to find out the only thing you like more than arguing whether I should be in the rotation or bullpen is arguing whether I should be in the bullpen or get released!I blushed when I read this on Haudricourt's blog:
STUPID! STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DID ANYONE SEE HOW GOOD VARGAS LOOKED (in terms of conditioning?) I AM APPALLED.
Awe shucks. Thanks guys. He even found his CAPS LOCK button for me!
The Brewers saved $2.7 million - did you see that? You think you could have traded my large salary? *blushes* You guys are too much.
Even I have to hand it to the Brewers- its a pretty shrewed move on their part. I mean, I'm almost 30 and have proven to be a astonishingly average player in the major leagues, why pay me all that money for long relief??
I'm kind of amazed that this is really a story at all - do other cities react like this when is when their 7th best starter is released? I didn't think so...it must be because I'm such Milwaukee legend!
Thanks again guys. You are too much.
So everyone, calm down. I'll catch on as a 5th starter on one of the weaker teams in the league and I'm sure I'll come back to beat the Brewers this summer and once again make everyone question their own lives.
Adios!

I was going to make this its own post, but will just put it here instead.
I'm in awe. Just awesome (from JSOnline) :
WOW,I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF SHEETS BEFORE I GOT RID OF VARGAS.HERE WE HAVE AN INJURY PRONE PITCHER,IF WHAT YOU WANNA CALL INJURIES,BLISTERS AND SOME OTHER WEAK EXCUSES FOR AN INJURY,INJURIES GETTING PAID BIG BUCKS V.S. A GUY WHO WAS OVER 500 LAST YEAR AND THE BREWERS WERE 16-7 WHEN HE STARTED GAMES.HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
Trying to reason with some of these people is a fruitless exercise. If anything, this leaves no question that the Brewers are a solid No. 2 in the state's sports pecking order behind the Packers. The reaction after the team released their No. 7 starter is seriously crazy.
